Eric crosses paths with Otto Renfield, a crippled old sailor whose weathered face and haunted eyes speak of storms far older
than the sea. Renfield claims to know Skorzeny–and promises to help Eric track him down. He leads Eric aboard his rust-eaten ship,
a floating tomb of secrets, where he recounts the grim history he once shared with the notorious wolf.
In his glory days, Skorzeny fed freely on the innocent, indulging in bloodlust without consequence. But as the world modernized and prey
became harder to stalk unnoticed, he learned to kill in whispers instead of screams. Renfield tells Eric how he crossed paths with the
monster–how the encounter cost him his leg and much of his life.
Pretending to stand with Eric, Renfield coaxes him deeper into the ship and into a barred holding cell, promising answers. But the promise is
a lie. He traps Eric, revealing the cell was meant not to show Eric an old address for Skorzeny–but to deliver him. Caught and
cornered, Eric transforms into the wolf, yet even the beast’s strength cannot bend the iron that binds him.
When he reverts to human, Eric presses Renfield for the truth. This time, the old sailor’s bitterness shows through the cracks. Renfield’s
grudge is real: Skorzeny refused to grant him the gift—or curse—of becoming a wolf. Eric pleads to be released so he can end
Skorzeny himself. But Renfield, torn between spite and fear, walks away, leaving him caged and helpless.
Later, in the ship’s cabin, Skorzeny arrives, hunting for Eric. But he finds something unexpected: Renfield, aged beyond recognition and no
longer eager to bow to his former tormentor. Skorzeny’s response is swift and brutal. The wolf inside him tears into Renfield, leaving the
old sailor for dead.
With chaos erupting above, Eric hides in the shadows of the ship’s hold. The deck groans under Skorzeny’s monstrous weight as the wolf
descends—driven by scent, memory, and hunger—coming straight for him.
