Eric slips out the back of a store just as Rogan walks in, questioning the staff who had spoken to him moments earlier. Out on the city
street, a flash of blue lights halts Eric in his tracks. A patrol car pulls up, and he is abruptly arrested and placed in the back seat.
As they drive, the officer talks to Eric in an unsettling manner—nothing like any cop Eric has ever encountered. The tone, the phrasing,
the odd questions all suggest something is very wrong. When they pass the police station entirely, Eric becomes frantic. The car continues
on, finally stopping at a quiet residential driveway.
Eric is forced into the basement, where several human-sized mounds of dirt lie against the walls. The officer draws his gun and asks a
chilling question: “Aren’t you going to ask me why?” The moment Eric does, a gunshot echoes through the room, killing him.
But long after the impostor cop leaves, satisfied with adding another body to his secret graveyard, the earth trembles. Eric’s wolf claws
out of the dirt and escapes into the night.
The killer returns to the real police station—now dressed in civilian clothes—bringing snacks and chatting comfortably with the officers.
They tease him for hanging around so often, joking that if he likes the station so much he should try becoming a real cop.
Shadowing the impersonator from a distance, Eric watches him pick up his next intended victim. Before Eric can act, Rogan confronts him at
gunpoint. Eric is shackled to Rogan’s dashboard for the long trip back to where everything began. Desperate, Eric pleads with Rogan,
insisting the man who arrested him is a killer who plans to murder the woman he just picked up.
Rogan, wary but convinced enough to check the story, returns to investigate—only to come face to face with the same pistol that shot Eric
in that basement. It will take luck—and a ghostly encounter born of Eric’s survival—for Rogan to make it out alive.
