Synopsis

Working a side job at a carnival game booth, Eric watches his next player, a quiet young woman named Sylvia, knock down every target with flawless precision. Only when she steps forward to claim her oversized stuffed bear does he learn the twist—she’s blind. Her boyfriend, Austen, arrives just in time to admire her winnings but admits there’s no room for the huge plush in their two-seater car. He slips Eric extra cash to deliver it directly to Sylvia’s home.

When Eric drops off the prize, Sylvia is heading out. Knowing she is blind and recognizing her effort to walk the distance, he offers her a lift while he still has the boss’s truck. She agrees, explaining she has planned a surprise for Austen and wants to prepare his apartment before he returns.

Inside, Sylvia confidently describes the furnishings, computer, books, and framed photographs on display—the apartment she believes Austen has shared with her in love and honesty. But Eric sees what she cannot: everything she names is something else entirely. The décor is wrong, the details don’t match, and worst of all, the photo Sylvia identifies as herself beside Austen clearly shows him with another woman. Eric quickly understands that Austen is deceiving her, but he cannot bring himself to shatter the illusion she clings to. He leaves, unsettled, but remains nearby.

When Austen returns, he notices the shifted photograph but dismisses the detail. Claiming an office meeting, he heads out again. Eric follows him to a bar, watching as Austen slides seamlessly into his real life—Janet, the woman from the photo, working tables as a waitress, and Austen behind the counter as bartender. Eric takes a seat, and when Janet approaches, he tests the truth with a casual flirtation. She firmly shuts it down. She’s with the bartender.

Eric digs deeper and confirms what he feared: Austen has a history of targeting blind women, cultivating trust, then killing them and collecting insurance payouts. Sylvia is not the first—just the next.

Now, Eric must warn her and stop Austen before another life is claimed. But time is running thin. Eric’s own transformation looms, and if he fails to reach Sylvia in time, he may not only lose her to a predator—but become one himself.
